I love writing songs with Darcy. Our practice room is always cold, but the lighting is good. New songs always make for strange atmospheres anyway. Someone will show us a song that he's been toiling over for weeks, and we'll destroy it, fight over it, give up, start over, shake hands, pray, fight again, drink some tea, and fight again. Then by the end of the practice we've got a song.

Someday, I hope to go into the studio with nothing but time on my hands--time to just ponder over drum tones. I'd like to make a record with tones and grooves that bands like Death Cab or Midlake would dig.
